JLF: Ancient Wisdom for modern wellbeing

Well-being is a topic that has been explored, considered, and pursued through Jewish text and tradition for millennia. In this series, we will explore Jewish ideas and approaches to well-being, developing our own directions and approaches to well-being within contemporary life. Students will be supported to implement intentional well-being practices, evolving their own self-understanding and Jewish wellness practice.

This 10-week learning opportunity is for students just beginning to explore what Jewish Wisdom and Well-being means to them. It's a great opportunity for new, alumni and transfer students.

  • New participants who attend all sessions, including one Shabbat experience, are eligible to receive a $300 stipend.

  • Returning and Alumni who attend all sessions, including one Shabbat experience, are eligible to receive a a $100 stipend.

Facilitated by Rav Sara & Casey

Beginning on Wednesday February 21st 5:30-7pm in SU 206

Kol Yisrael: Pluralism

This series 6-week deep dive exploring how Jews navigate and share space in the Jewish state. Using five Israeli case studies, students will explore the values that are animated when Judaism is actualized in the public sphere. Because this series focuses on questions relating specifically to Jewish practices, the content will center around Jewish-Israeli voices.

All participants will receive a $175 stipend.

Facilitated by Natalia

Cohort begins on Wednesday, February 21st 5:30-7pm in SU 206. Dinner will be served.

KOL YISRAEL: peoplehood, resilience, and antisemitism

This series explores resilience and antisemitism through the lens of Jewish peoplehood and Jewish experience. This course is for student leaders who are passionate about engaging in the nuances of Jewish experiences in the 21st century, claiming positive Jewish identity, even while navigating antisemitism, contemporary discourse around Israel. Students will engage with Jewish diversity, grapple with narratives that harm and marginalize, and celebrate Jewish resilience and joy.

Participants will receive $175 stipend upon successful completion of the course.

Facilitated by our Executive Director, Jenna Citron Schwab.

Beginning Monday, February 5th from 5:30-7:00PM in SU 206
