Chapter Events: One Sunday evening per month, 6:00–7:30 PM Monthly Teen Leadership Meeting: One additional 1-hour planning/training meeting per month (scheduled with teen board) Compensation: $3,000 annuallly

 

About the Role: The Forest Hills Jewish Center is seeking an energetic, responsible, and creative USY Director to lead our synagogue’s chapter of United Synagogue Youth (USY). This part-time position is a meaningful opportunity to inspire and connect with Jewish teens, support their growth as leaders, and create programming that fosters a vibrant Jewish teen community. Responsibilities: Plan and lead monthly USY chapter events that are fun, inclusive, and grounded in Jewish values. Facilitate monthly meetings with the USY teen board to support event planning and leadership development. Build strong relationships with teens and serve as a Jewish role model and mentor. Collaborate with synagogue staff and lay leadership to integrate USY into broader congregational life. Communicate with teens and families to promote events and maintain engagement.

 

Qualifications: Enthusaism for working with teens and a commitment to Jewish life and learning. Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience in youth work, camp, informal Jewish education, or synagogue settings preferred. Familiarity with USY, the values of Conservative Judaism,and teen culture.
