Zohar Bachiry Medicine Zohar graduated from Queens College in Spring 2015 and was the Hillel president during 2013-2014 . She currently works as part of the health care admin team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During her spare time, she loves to dance, run, and work on her photography.

 

Lauren Blachorsky Neuroscience/Medical Research Lauren graduated Queens College in 2015 with a major in neuroscience. She is currently working at the Rockefeller University, and in the summer will begin an MD-PhD program. While at Queens College, and specifically through the Jewish community, she met some of her closest friends and husband. With this alumni board, she is excited about the prospect of creating a stronger QC Hillel community.

 

Nicki Kornbluth Marketing Nicki is a Marketing Manager at Custora, a venture-backed marketing-tech startup in NYC. She started working at Custora as an intern in college and went on to join the team full time post-graduation. Nicki is happy to chat with students interested in marketing, tech startups, or finding internships. 

 

Shira Litchman Human Resources Shira graduated from Queens College with an Economics Major and a BALA minor. She is currently working in HR (Human Resources) in a high-tech startup company, and would be happy to speak to QC students to give them career advice or share her HR experience.

 

Matthew Polaniecki Medicine Matthew Polaniecki graduated Queens College in 2010. He currently worksin the IT / Instructional Design field at the Icahn School of Medicine where he supports Technology and Education initiatives.

 

David Rand Law  

David Rand is currently completing his last semester at NYU Law School and will be taking the bar exam in July, after which he will begin working as an Associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel, a corporate law firm located in the financial district. He also currently works part-time for Cahill during the academic year.

 

Corey Schwartz Finance Corey graduated Queens College in 2014 with a degree in Economics and Chinese, don't fret he doesn't remember a word. He is now working as a Structured Debt and Equity Analyst for Meridian Capital. He lives in Kew Garden Hills with his wife Isabelle, and enjoys coaching at his alma mater Frisch, and Martha's Bakery.

 

Nehama Schwartz Arts Nehama Schwartz graduated from Queens College in May, 2016 where she majored in Art History and minored in Business and Liberal Arts.  During her time on campus she was the Hillel Student President during the 2014-2015 academic year.  She is now pursuing a Master's Degree at New York University in Visual Arts Administration and hopes to work in an art museum or art non-profit when she completes the program.  Nehama loves talking all things art, culture, and museum related. Jacqueline Segelnick Medicine Jacqueline Segelnick graduated from Queens College in Spring 2015 with a BA and MA in Urban Affairs.  She is currently in the Class of 2019 at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She continues to be involved with Jewish life on campus as Secretary of the Maimonides Society.  Published twice in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine for her research with 9/11 first responders, Jacqueline hopes to continue in her career to serve neglected communities in the medical field.

Ariel Shapiro Non-Profit: Jewish Ariel Shapiro is the Associate Director of Development at Mechon Hadar. She was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. After attending Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School, Ariel learned in Israel for a year at Midreshet Lindenbaum. Ariel graduated from Queens College where she majored in Comparative Literature and minored in Business and Liberal Arts. Ariel served as both the Hillel Club president and as a Comparative Literature Club officer during her time at Queens. In addition, she made Dean's List and was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa among other honors. Ariel has worked for the UJA-Federation of New York among other Jewish organizations. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree at New York University and is a Wexner fellow.

Jackie Shapiro Non-Profit Fundraising Jackie Shapiro graduated Queens College in 2012 and went on to receive her MSW from Columbia University, where she focused primarily on social enterprise administration and nonprofit management. She is currently the Associate Director of Development doing fundraising and donor and alumni engagement at Queens College Hillel. She is also involved in the greater Jewish community in New York City and is active within the Emerging Leaders and Philanthropists division of UJA-Federation of New York, on the planning committee of JDC Entwine, and serves on the board of JCC Manhattan's 20s and 30s group.

 

Daniel Tavakoli Law Daniel Tavakoli grew up in Great Neck, Long Island. He received his B.B.A. in corporate finance from Queens College, his M.B.A. from the University of Rochester, and his J.D. from Georgetown. He is currently a corporate associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he works on public and private mergers and acquisitions. Daniel is on the Young Leadership Council for AIPAC, serves on the board of directors of the Queens College Hillel, and is heavily involved in the Chabad Young Professionals of the Upper East Side community.

 

Ariel Tavor Finance  Ariel Tavor graduated with a BS in economics and political science from Queens College in 2008, and obtained his MBS in business administration from Fordham University in 2013. He is the founder and managing director of Lions Insurance Financial. He is a financial advisor, a former MDRT, and council member at New York Life. Ariel has been a standout in the financial service industry for over nine years, in which he won multiple salutations and acknowledgments for his hard work and accomplishments. Ariel has won Rookie of the Year in New York life, elected for executive council for three consecutive years, and a seat on the coveted Million Dollar Round Table. He is a former president and council member of Young Israel of Queens Valley, former president of AEPi Alumni Board of Directors, and currently owns a restaurant in the East Harlem.

 

Rebecca Zimilover Non-Profit Rebecca Zimilover graduated Queens College in 2010 and went on to receive graduate degrees from the Columbia University School of Social Work and the Jewish Theological Seminary. She currently works at UJA-Federation of New York fundraising and engaging synagogues and Orthodox young professionals with UJA-Federation.
