Shabbat is an opportunity to take a break and connect to community.

QC Hillel celebrations Shabbat a few different ways.

(1) Free Friday Night Dinners

FFND, as we call it, is a BIG Shabbat dinner we host 2-4 times per year (when safe to do so). QC Hillel coordinates Fright night services and OU-JLIC will often host a Shabbat morning service. The meal is fully catered, but you are required to RSVP ahead of time to join.

 (2) Out of the Box Shabbat

We know BIG meals are not for everyone. Some of us just like to relax and enjoy a home cooked meal, which is why we coordinate Out of the Box Shabbat. OOTBS gives you the opportunity to be a hot or a guest of a small meal in the comfort of someone's home. We'll even match you to a meal if you're not sure where to go! Hosts are provided an Out of the Box Shabbat Box that includes all the Shabbat essentials and a gift card to purchase food too. Guests just need to sign up and show up!

 (3) Virtual Shabbat

Be on the lookout for special pre and post Shabbat virtual opportunities this year including virtual candle lighting and havdallah.

 (4) Shabbatonim

Coordinated by Hillel Club a few times per year (when safe), Shabbatonim including Friday night services, Shabbat morning services, a paid meal on Friday night, student-coordinated Shabbat lunches.
