His 200, The Jews of Russia and the Soviet Union

Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:25-10:50 AM
Elissa Bemporad
The course will study the legal status, experience and institutions of one national-religious minority (the Jews) within the context of the authoritarian Tsarist Russia and within the context of the Soviet Union, one of the harshest totalitarian regimes in the twentieth century, and one of the worst political systems ever created by human kind.
