Alternative Breaks

Alternative Break programs with Queens College Hillel are immersive, transformative, and enriching. The programs take groups of students out of their regular surroundings and place them in different environments to engage in community service and experiential learning.

As part of short-term service projects, whether in Central America, New Orleans, or a number of other locations, participants are challenged to see and understand difficult social issues such as poverty, literacy, and natural disasters and explore how this work is integral to what it means to be a Jew.
