Student Leadership

Ariel Shapiro
Ariel Shapiro was born and raised in Manhattan. She loves the city, hates grass, enjoys jogging outside (treadmill just doesn't do it), and doesn't mind a good book when she has the time to pick one up. She began her Queens College career in the Fall of 2010, and is majoring in Comparative Literature and minoring in BALA (of course) and Honors in the Humanities. She was elected Hillel President in Spring 2011 and was reelected in Spring 2012. She is always in the Hillel, running around and getting things done. Ariel would love for you to stop by, Facebook her and share your ideas about how to make Hillel a better place.

Nachi Farkas
My name is Nachi Farkas and I am Vice President of the Queens College Hillel. Ever since I started with Hillel as a freshman, I have been trying to make it a more empowering and dynamic organization. This past year we experienced a lot of growth in sustainability and involvement, and in the coming year I want to continue that progress. I would love to catch lunch with you, or sit down and talk to you about how we can work together to make Judaism more prominent on the Queens College campus and make our student body more enthusiastic about getting in touch with their Judaism. With open arms, I welcome everyone to experience and witness our tremendous growth.

Eric Sprung
My name is Eric Sprung and I am Treasurer of the Queens College Hillel. As Treasurer of the Hillel I hope to build our budget so we can run more awesome events and make sure that we are spending our money more efficiently. Both of my parents are accountants, so being fiscally responsible is running in my genes. My hobbies include playing tennis, hitting the links in the summer, botany, and nomenclature of alcohols. But most importantly, I am looking forward to a great year, filled with exciting new events targeting all types of Jewish students on campus. Can’t wait to see you there!

Zohar Bashiri
Hi! My name is Zohar Bachiry, I am the Secretary of the Queens College Hillel, and I'm here to get things done! I love organizing and planning, that's why I'm taking on this job at Hillel. In my life outside of Hillel (as difficult as it is to imagine such a life), I love to laugh, dance, go out with friends, and watch movies. I live in the Summit, and love having guests over, so you're very welcome to visit. Two random fun facts about me: I'm Israeli and I can juggle. I can’t wait to meet you all! Hoping this year will be a great one :).
